In late 2018, Steve Bannon, previously a top aide to Donald Trump, was in the UK preparing for a address at the Oxford Union.

The event was disrupted by hundreds of protesters, and Bannon, who was due to board a flight that night, told Jeffrey Epstein in an message: "Protesters delayed my talk I doubt I can make the plane we r enroute to the airport".

Epstein replied: "There. Is a gulf air that leaves at 950 with a stop in Bahrain". Bannon replied: "You are an excellent helper".

These exchanges were published on this week together with over 20,000 documents from the records of Epstein, the deceased convicted sex offender.

The disclosure by the House oversight committee contains an iMessage chat where Bannon's name is withheld. Media outlets has been able to confirm his identity by matching the dates, events, and locations referenced.

For instance, Epstein talks about chartering a jet from the UK for the redacted user in the chat, and offers praise their "address at Oxford". Bannon participated in the News Xchange conference on 14 November, and delivered the speech at the Oxford two days later.

Bannon, who is not accused of any misconduct, declined to comment on the request for comment.

Epstein's Assurance to Bannon

Bannon was one of Trump's closest advisers in the run up to the presidential election and during the initial phase of his first administration, but resigned from the administration in 2017.

He has admitted he was making a film about Epstein before his death and reportedly has around 15 hours of recordings. In a recording of his podcast recently, he stated: "We plan to publish the series, the five-part series, in the coming year - early next year."

But the recently disclosed documents suggest Bannon's connection with Epstein went further than documenting his life, with the disgraced financier occasionally seeming to act like a personal assistant.

A short time prior to the conversation in which Epstein appeared to have arranged a charter jet for Bannon, Epstein said: "what's it like to have the highest-paid booking agent in history ".

Bannon thanked him: "U r pretty good assistant", to which Epstein responded "Therapies. Not Included".

Discussing a trip to "AD" in a separate text, Epstein told Bannon: "I'll make sure you're well looked after."

British Affairs Mentioned in Messages

The released messages also show Bannon and Epstein discussing UK politics in 2018.

On the same day his address at the Oxford, Bannon texted Epstein: "I became involved in the Brexit thing this morning with Farage, Boris and Mogg."

Then, in what appears to be a allusion to the UK prime minister, the struggling UK prime minister at the period, he continued: "The guys are trying to move on. may today / tomorrow…"

Epstein suggested Bannon: "I think staying as much as you can in the UK. Ideal- so others see the commitment of your follow-up."

Shortly after, Epstein inquired: "Can Theresa may survive". Bannon answered: "I don't see how BUT the people over here have no balls" and noted "Boris ; Michael Gove; Rees Mogg; David Davis - somebody has to take charge".

May was eventually toppled in May 2019 after withstanding multiple attempts of lack of support in late 2018.

A spokesman for Reform UK told media: "Nigel Farage has never been in a meeting with Steve Bannon, Jacob Rees Mogg and Boris Johnson." And there is no evidence that encounter occurred.

The Congress will vote soon on whether the justice department should release all its records related to its investigation into Epstein, who died in prison in 2019.

Interest in Epstein's relationships with influential individuals was renewed this week after the release of more than 20,000 documents from his estate.

A portion of those mentioned Trump, who has consistently denied any wrongdoing. The leader was a friend of Epstein's for a long time, but says they fell out in the early 2000s, two years prior to Epstein was first arrested.
